Heera Chandani

A Legacy of Compassion & Expertise

Heera Chandani, M.A. CCC-SLP/L, has been a practicing speech-language pathologist since 2006. She has worked in schools, therapeutic day programs, hospitals, private practices, and in home and community settings with several multidisciplinary teams.

She possesses a wealth of experience working with people of all ages, covering diverse neurological conditions, developmental disabilities, and disorders. Her areas of specialization include: apraxia of speech, autism spectrum disorder, language delay, ADHD, AAC, auditory processing disorder, executive functioning, cognitive communication disorders, social communication impairments, and bilingual evaluations (Urdu/Hindi-English).

In addition to therapy, Heera is committed to IEP (Individualized Education Program) and disability advocacy. She takes the time to understand each client's IEP and 504 plans, providing feedback to families and advocating for their needs in school and team meetings.

Global Vision & Teaching

Heera loves teaching and continues to guest lecture for graduate courses every year at Northwestern University. Grounded in a love of learning, she travels internationally to conduct workshops and present at conferences in locations such as India, Egypt, and the U.A.E. She has helped international schools and families access funding, build classrooms, and develop therapeutic programs.

Born in the U.S. and raised in Dubai, U.A.E., Heera is multilingual, being fluent and literate in English, Hindi/Urdu, and Sindhi, and literate in Arabic.

Personal Inspiration

Heera committed her life to service at age nine. She has volunteered at Mother Teresa’s Orphanage in India and helped set up special education programs in India and Africa.

She has been deeply shaped by her relationship with her younger brother, Dhiren, who has a developmental disability. Dhiren continues to be Heera’s greatest motivation.
